BEACH AREA
General Description:
White powder sand beach located on Mararison Island. This beach area is very similar to the beaches of Boracay. The area is unique because it is surrounded by a mainland that has black sand beaches. We intend to use the beach for surface intervals and beach parties in the future. It is interesting to note that the local ordinance (Ordinance 5-2002) for the diving fee is ignored in this barangay. It is our experience that the barangay captain charges less than the outrageous price charged at the municipal building in Culasi. The barangay captain welcomes divers and is interested in the reestablishment of marine life in the area. The barangay requires divers to check in before diving the local area.
The beach is only accessible by boat. It is a 10 minute ride from the end of Bay Bay Boulevard. It is not necessary to lay anchor in the area. The current is not strong and the bottom is visible from the surface. The beach is approximately 25 meters west of the CLAM FARM. The site is great for those divers looking for a relaxing, shallow dive.
